Recovery is not only for people with addictions, recovery is something everyone who has struggled with depression, anxiety, PTSD, drugs or any one of a number of other problems, wants to accomplish in order to get better. Recovery is what we do as we to learn about the underlying spiritual, moral, and emotional wounds that drive our emotional and behavioral problems.
Deep Recovery is a unique course, there is one other like it. The Deep Recovery Course is both educational and transformational. In it you will learn about our human nature from a spiritual perspective, you will learn about some of the basic biological aspects of emotional pain and unhealthy behaviors, and you will learn skills to make long term change a reality. You will learn why faith is an essential part of neuroplasticity (how God changes the brain), and how including God in the process of healing resolves the deepest needs of the human heart. Deep Recovery is a Faith and Science based course. Deep Recovery will be offered as a six week course and is open to anyone struggling with unhealthy behaviors, emotional blockages, addiction, and other issues. Our goal is to set people free from the inside out and provide a path of sustained change. While one does not have to be a practicing Christian to participate, the presentation presumes a Christian perspective and will include ideas built upon christian spirituality and concepts. Where: Trinity Anglican Church, The "Upper Room". When: Wednesdays, from May 15th through June 19th. Time: 6:30 pm to 8:30 pm. Motoring for Vets and JesusWhile it is common knowledge at Trinity, Fr. Mirabile is an avid biker, er.....motorcyclist. Which ever term you prefer. While things slow down a little at Trinity mid-summer, Fr. Mirabile can be found riding throughout the region. He has owned many motorcycles over the years, from sport bikes to cruisers and currently owns two Italian motorcycles, a Moto Guzzi and an Aprilia (sorry, no Harley). It is little wonder then, that he would want to host a Blessing of the Bikes!
On Saturday May 18th, Trinity will host it's first ever Blessing of the Bikes! This event will help raise funds for our Reboot Combat Recovery Program. Reboot is for veterans who have returned home and are still struggling with some the consequences of serving. Funds will also go to help support veterans and others in recovery and are homeless. Trinity will provide breakfast sandwiches and coffee as bikers begin to arrive at 9:00 am. At 10:00 am the short service will begin, followed by some prayers and finally, the sprinkling of the bikes. If other riders arrive after the start of the blessing Fr. Mirabile will continue to bless the bikes until 10:45, when they begin to prepare to leave for the ride itself. This is a rain or shine event. However, if it is raining, the ride itself may be called. The event is open for all motorcycle enthusiasts and bikers. Whether one rides a Harley Davidson, Metric Cruiser, Goldwing, BMW or sport bike, all riders are welcome to attend. The event will finish with a ride up to Conway via route 153 for those who would like to ride on. Trinity wants all riders to ride safely and with the angels watching over their shoulders!
