Summer is always a little quieter at Trinity. Folks go on vacation, spend time at the camp, or enjoy time with family. Once September rolls around though, things kick into high gear again. With Fall the leaves come down from the trees but at Trinity the season has us rise to new levels of fellowship and activity.
Our sixth rotation of Reboot Combat Recovery kicked off on September 5th. it was a small group, but the intimacy allowed us to be honest and transparent through the course. Not everyone finishes the course, and this time a couple could not continue. Still, graduation was marked by the powerful testimony that "Dave" had given about how Reboot has changed His life. This year we hosted our first annual Harvest Day Festival. It was well attended in spite of the fact that there were other large festivals on the same weekend. There was a moon bounce and games, and the music of Liz and Dan Faiella added the sound of lively music and joy to the whole event. Our own Logan Gabriel, a classically trained guitarist played lovely pieces of music inside, where much of the food was. Not a month later, and it was time for our annual Christmas Fair. This long-standing event was organized entirely by our ladies guild . There were baked goods, crafts, Christmas gifts and a wide range of items for sale. On the day of the event, the traffic was so great that half of the stock sold by noon - in two hours! There were several raffle prize baskets that were raffled away as well During the month of November, we hosted a series of talks on our “We Believe…” statements, found at the front of our website and in our bulletins. Each statement begins with “We believe” and then names an important point of contact between our faith and contemporary society. There were seven talks altogether, each followed by lively discussion. One of the most important aspects of these talks was our fellowship around a simple shared meal. Trinity often provides ways for members to connect with one another outside of the Sunday Service to strengthen the bonds of affection. The Fall also brought new friends. Trinity is growing, and this is shown by the steady stream of people who come and visit the church and decide to become members. We have had the privilege of welcoming several new faces to our congregation. Next up, The Messiah Oratório! This event is a repeat of the amazing performance we offered last year. We expect to pack the house for this event. After this we will have our Christmas services. True to our mission statement, Trinity is a Parish on Purpose, and the schedule this fall gives ample evidence of the same. Recovery is not only for people with addictions, recovery is something everyone who has struggled with depression, anxiety, PTSD, drugs or any one of a number of other problems, wants to accomplish in order to get better. Recovery is what we do as we to learn about the underlying spiritual, moral, and emotional wounds that drive our emotional and behavioral problems.
Deep Recovery is a unique course, there is one other like it. The Deep Recovery Course is both educational and transformational. In it you will learn about our human nature from a spiritual perspective, you will learn about some of the basic biological aspects of emotional pain and unhealthy behaviors, and you will learn skills to make long term change a reality. You will learn why faith is an essential part of neuroplasticity (how God changes the brain), and how including God in the process of healing resolves the deepest needs of the human heart. Deep Recovery is a Faith and Science based course. Deep Recovery will be offered as a six week course and is open to anyone struggling with unhealthy behaviors, emotional blockages, addiction, and other issues. Our goal is to set people free from the inside out and provide a path of sustained change. While one does not have to be a practicing Christian to participate, the presentation presumes a Christian perspective and will include ideas built upon christian spirituality and concepts. Motoring for Vets and JesusWhile it is common knowledge at Trinity, Fr. Mirabile is an avid biker, er.....motorcyclist. Which ever term you prefer. While things slow down a little at Trinity mid-summer, Fr. Mirabile can be found riding throughout the region. He has owned many motorcycles over the years, from sport bikes to cruisers and currently owns two Italian motorcycles, a Moto Guzzi and an Aprilia (sorry, no Harley). It is little wonder then, that he would want to host a Blessing of the Bikes!
On Saturday May 18th, Trinity will host it's first ever Blessing of the Bikes! This event will help raise funds for our Reboot Combat Recovery Program. Reboot is for veterans who have returned home and are still struggling with some the consequences of serving. Funds will also go to help support veterans and others in recovery and are homeless. Trinity will provide breakfast sandwiches and coffee as bikers begin to arrive at 9:00 am. At 10:00 am the short service will begin, followed by some prayers and finally, the sprinkling of the bikes. If other riders arrive after the start of the blessing Fr. Mirabile will continue to bless the bikes until 10:45, when they begin to prepare to leave for the ride itself. This is a rain or shine event. However, if it is raining, the ride itself may be called. The event is open for all motorcycle enthusiasts and bikers. Whether one rides a Harley Davidson, Metric Cruiser, Goldwing, BMW or sport bike, all riders are welcome to attend. The event will finish with a ride up to Conway via route 153 for those who would like to ride on. Trinity wants all riders to ride safely and with the angels watching over their shoulders! Come worship the risen Lord with us! Christmas is always a joyous and busy time. For us at Trinity is was not for the shopping, but all the activities that we had planned for the Holiday. Our Christmas season was kicked off by a performance of Handel's Messiah. This exquisite performance was directed by our own Carlos Martinez and featured some of the best talent in the Boston area. A lot of work went into planning and pulling off the event. The musicians gathered with the soloists and choir for practice. Meanwhile we had a crack team in church organizing the many details required to put this together, from arranging policeman to help with traffic, to guiding parking and preparing the sanctuary. the performance itself was intimate and amazing and many people remarked that you could not have found a better performance in any of the best concert halls in the world. It was truly World Class! We are blessed at Trinity to have such a warm, energetic and thriving family of God. As we look back at the last year we have accomplished so much! While some have gone on to be with the Lord we have also grown considerably over the last year. We have tremendous momentum going into the new year and look forward to all God has prepared for us to do.
Join us this holiday season for or “first-annual” sing-along performance of Handel’s masterwork, The Messiah! Trinity Anglican Church will present a Handel Messiah Sing-Along Saturday December 15th at 180 Rochester Hill Road, Rochester, NH at 7:30pm.

Light refreshments will be served afterwards in the reception hall. You don’t need to be an accomplished choral singer – this sing-along concert is for everyone who loves singing and Handel’s immortal oratorio. Information at trinity-anglicanchurch.org or by calling (603)332-4121 Trinity Anglican church will offer a special Veterans Day Service at their current location on Sunday. November 11th, 6:00pm.
Whereas most often services of this type are designed to be a general honorific for veterans, this service is different. It is designed with the veteran in mind first and foremost. This prayer service will include a litany of prayers for those who have gone through combat, deployment or service, as well as other ceremonies to help veterans heal from the spiritual and moral wounds of war. “If contemporary America doesn’t develop ways to publicly confront the emotional consequences of war, those consequences will continue to burn a hole through the vets themselves.” ― Sebastian Junger, Tribe: On Homecoming and Belonging. Junger, in the same book considered the idea of services that might do just that. This service is intended to accomplish that end. All veterans are invited, and Reboot Combat Recovery Alumni are also invited as well. If you would like more information, please contact Rev. Matthew Mirabile at 603-332-4121 or email at [email protected]. It has been thirty years since Trinity first formed as a parish and twenty five years since the property was left to us and we built our wonderful church. Now it is time to celebrate the achievement and work that so many have contributed to maintain this parish. It is also time to look forward to what God is going to do next.
What better why to remember the past and anticipate a bright future than with a Jubilee Celebration! On Saturday, November 3rd, from, 2:30 pm to 7:00 pm we will gather for food, a raffle, prizes, contra-dancing, dinner, and fellowship. There will be presentations of the history of the church, as well as salutations from Bp. Brian Marsh, comments from Fr. Don Wilson, and Fr. Mirabile will talk about the vision and goals of the parish moving forward. , All the festivities will take place in a giant heated tent in the rear parking lot, and in the church.
